Author, facilitator and community advocate Chantel Bloy has launched a fundraising campaign as she prepares to represent Gauteng at the Influential Awards 2026 after being selected among the Top 100 Influential Men and Women of Johannesburg.
Bloy is seeking to raise R20 000 by 25 June to support her journey to the awards, which will be held at Gold Reef City on 15 August .
The campaign has received backing from community leaders, including Mrs Bold Visionary Leader Natasha Hector, who commended Bloy’s commitment to education, empowerment and community development.
Hector highlighted Bloy’s work as the author of Anchored, a CAPS-aligned book aimed at empowering young people, as well as her efforts to uplift women, youth and marginalised communities through training and facilitation.
Speaking about her nomination, Bloy said the recognition represents more than a personal achievement.
“Being selected among the Top 100 Influential Men and Women of Johannesburg is both an honour and a responsibility. This recognition is not just about me, but about every life I have been privileged to impact through education, empowerment and community development. I am appealing to the community, businesses and supporters to walk this journey with me as I proudly represent Ennerdale and Gauteng at the Influential Awards 2026,” said Bloy.
According to campaign material, Bloy has been recognised for her dedication to social impact, leadership and community service. Supporters are invited to contribute through a pledge campaign offering donation options from R100 to R1 000, while larger contributions are also encouraged.
The Influential Awards celebrate individuals making a positive difference in their communities and professions. Bloy’s nomination places the spotlight on both her work and the broader impact of community-driven initiatives emerging from Ennerdale.
The awards ceremony is scheduled for 15 August at Gold Reef City, where Bloy will represent Gauteng on the national stage.
“Every pledge makes a difference,” reads the campaign message, encouraging residents, businesses and supporters to contribute towards the fundraising goal.
