Residents in Ennerdale are facing disruptions to essential services following the temporary closure of the local Department of Home Affairs office after a reported break-in.
Notices posted at the facility confirm that the Ennerdale Home Affairs office is “temporarily closed until further notice,” leaving community members uncertain about when services such as ID applications, passports, and other civic documentation will resume.
Office Manager Albrek Masinge confirmed the closure, stating that the office will not be reopening anytime soon due to the extent of the incident.
“We are dealing with the situation following the break-in, and unfortunately, the offices won’t be open anytime soon. However, community members will be kept informed on any developments,” said Masinge.
In the meantime, residents are advised to contact 083 600 6345 via calls or WhatsApp for enquiries or seek assistance at alternative Home Affairs branches in surrounding areas.
