Phumlam’qashi mother to appear in court for allegedly killing her two sons with rat poison

Nhlanhla Digoro (37) from Phumlam’qashi in Lenasia South is expected to appear before the Lenasia Magistrate’s Court on 23 January. According to the Gauteng Department of Social Development statement, she faces two counts of premeditated murder following the deaths of Setshaba (10) and Bothlale (8), who were allegedly poisoned a day before Mother’s Day.

She was denied bail after Magistrate Maggie Van der Merwe ruled that a pending medical report relating to one of the children was still outstanding, and she has been remanded in custody. The Gauteng DSD, together with the Men’s Forum, have been monitoring the case and providing support to the children’s father, Simon Digoro.
