On 16 December, Cassian Van Niekerk hosted a vibrant “Pimp My Bicycle” event in Ennerdale, Ext 8 behind the local clinic drawing 40 enthusiastic participants.

The winner Cardo, hailing from Lenasia South, impressed the judges with a unique bike that stood out for its stance, soundtrack and spin performance. The event showcased the creativity and skills of local bicycle lovers, while sponsors including South Africa Burials, Don Services, and Cohen TC Cruiser helped make the day possible.

Speaking to GLOBE POST, Cassian Van Niekerk said: “The event is designed to entertain our children because Ennerdale has no facilities, and we want to keep them off the streets, away from drugs, vapes and alcohol. The turnout was amazing and we were able to feed over 100 children at the event.”

Van Niekerk has dedicated his life to uplifting the community, mentoring young people and providing positive role models. Through initiatives like 7-a-side tournaments and creative projects such as “Pimp My Bicycle,” he encourages youth to believe in their potential, keeps them engaged in constructive activities and has even helped locate missing children.

Driven by passion and love for his community, Cassian continues to create opportunities, inspire hope and bring smiles to the faces of young and old alike.
