On 27 July, the African Entrepreneurs Group (AEG) brought smiles and motivation to Mountain City, Majazana, as they sponsored Happy Boys FC with brand-new printed T-shirts and soccer balls in celebration of Mandela Day.

Founded in 2019 by Mama Nomsa Maseko, Happy Boys FC is more than just a football team – it’s a community initiative aimed at nurturing young talent, keeping boys off the streets and steering them away from harmful habits such as substance abuse.

The club, which runs U13, U15 and U17 teams under the guidance of coach Zweli Nhlanhla Mbhele, also focuses on grooming future leaders and inspiring youth to dream beyond their circumstances.

Coach Mbhele expressed heartfelt gratitude during the handover, telling Globe Post: “We are truly grateful to the African Entrepreneurs Group for this donation. It means a lot to us – not just because of the equipment, but because it shows these boys that they are seen, valued and supported. It will make a huge difference in how they show up on and off the field.”

The gesture aligns with the spirit of Mandela Day making an impact, no matter how small and inspiring change in communities that need it most.
