Love Without Reason (LWR), a global nonprofit dedicated to changing lives through free cleft lip and palate surgeries, continues to make a profound impact in underserved communities.

In its continued mission to raise funds LWR hosted a successful fundraising Gala in Johannesburg in May, uniting compassionate individuals, medical professionals and donors with a shared mission: to support African children born with cleft lips and palates. The event raised significant funds to help cover the cost of life -changing surgeries, medical supplies and post -operative care.

The gala featured powerful speeches, moving testimonies and live entertainment, all underscoring the real-life impact of LWR’s mission. Attendees heard the emotional stories of children whose lives were transformed thanks to the generosity of donors and the skill of volunteer medical teams.

Funds raised will go directly toward expanding access to surgery for children who would otherwise go without. Each procedure not only improves appearance but also enhances speech, nutrition and social acceptance giving every child a chance at a healthy, confident life. While the gala was a significant milestone, the need remains urgent.

LWR’s mission goes far beyond surgery. The organization actively fights human trafficking by providing holistic, life-affirming services. Through cleft surgeries, education programs and empowerment initiatives like Set Free Pads, leadership conferences and clean water wells, LWR is working to create safer, healthier communities.

Their work has reached:1 000+ individuals with free cleft surgeries, 6 000+ women in red-light areas with education and vocational training while 300+ women and children rescued from sex trafficking.

LWR encourages continued support. You can donate at www.lovewithoutreason.org or reach out to local coordinator Sharon Raman at 082 551 4260.
