Step up for Lenasia South’s Shazadeen by helping fund new prosthetic foot!
Shazadeen Syed (60) is reaching out with a heartfelt plea for donations to help him regain the ability to walk and live a normal life once again.
A diabetic, Syed faced a life-changing ordeal in 2020 when he underwent a painful toe amputation at Baragwanath Hospital. While in recovery, he suffered a stroke on the left side of his body, leaving him unable to walk or maintain his balance. The simple act of walking, something many take for granted, has become an insurmountable challenge for Syed.
He shared with GLOBE POST: “I’m struggling every day. I’ve tried walking, but without balance, I can’t stand. I need a prosthetic foot to help me balance and walk again. I’ve tried one that works for me, but I just don’t have the means to afford it. The cost to make the foot is R12 000, and I can’t do this alone.”
Syed lives with his two sons and relies on them and the assistance of a helper who comes twice a week. The family is doing their best to support him, but the financial burden is too heavy to carry alone. With your help, Syed can regain his independence and walk again, something that would bring hope not just to him but to his family as well.
To make a difference in Syed’s life, please call him on 068 498 5172.
