Nigerian singer and songwriter, Timothy Patrick, better known by his stage name BadmanTeey, is carving his own path in the Afrobeat, Afropop, Amapiano, and Afro-Fusion music scenes. Based in Europe, BadmanTeey has become one of the most exciting artists to watch, with his infectious rhythms and soulful melodies connecting with fans worldwide.

By Ottis Manyoba

BadmanTeey’s musical journey began at a young age in his hometown of Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria. At 14, he started as a dancer, but his passion for music quickly grew. He would often sing with friends, performing locally and dreaming of a bigger stage. His love for music was ignited by a show where he saw Slizzy E, a fellow Benin native, perform—an experience that inspired him to start singing professionally.

“I have the belief that one day the world will dance to my songs and scream my name,” BadmanTeey shares. This unwavering confidence is a driving force behind his determination to succeed.

BadmanTeey’s rise to fame has been nothing short of impressive. From 2019 to 2021, he went on his first European tour, performing in major cities like Paris, Spain, Italy, and Germany. He released his second EP, Tips from Badman, in 2022, followed by a deluxe version in 2023. His singles, including “Balablu,” “Caribbean Girl,” and “Overdose Remix” have garnered significant attention.

2023 marked a pivotal year for BadmanTeey, culminating in the release of his first full-length album, Intercontinental, on August 31, 2024. The album, a mix of Afrobeat, Afropop, and Amapiano, features collaborations with artists like Snazzygrin, Vickilli, and Debbie, showcasing the artist’s global reach.

He’s also earned accolades such as the Best EU Afropop Artist of the Year 2021, Best Video of the Year 2022, and Artist of the Year 2024.

BadmanTeey’s album Intercontinental represents over a year of dedication. The creative process was intense, with the artist spending months writing and recording, sometimes without sleep, to perfect the project. The album reflects his personal journey and the influences of his diverse musical environment.

Looking ahead, BadmanTeey is focused on spreading his music globally and continuing to collaborate with top talents. “In the future, I see myself as the next big thing, making Nigeria and Africa proud,” he says.

With a growing fanbase known as “Vibe Citizens,” BadmanTeey remains committed to delivering authentic and soulful music. His journey is one to watch as he continues to rise to the top of the Afrobeat world.

Catch BadmanTeey’s new album Intercontinental now on all major streaming platforms, including Spotify, YouTube Music, and Apple Music.
