Assault case opened against RTMC officers in Gauteng

An assault case has been opened against the Road Traffic Management Corporation (RTMC) officers at the Booysens Police Station.

This after a video of two officers surfaced, in which they are seen assaulting a motorist.The incident happened on Friday near Southgate Mall. The victim, Thulane Msimango alleges that he was assaulted for refusing to pay a bribe.

Msimango alleges he was pulled over after failing to stop at a stop sign. He claims the officers solicited a bribe, which he refused to pay. He alleges that he was then assaulted.The Road Traffic Management Corporation has not commented on the incident.
