Inaugural Sihle Mtshali Lawley Awards inspire youth excellence

On 11 May, the inaugural Sihle Mtshali Lawley Awards, hosted by Sibonelo Mtshali in honor of his late brother Sihle Mtshali, marked a resounding success.

Held at Lawley Primary, the event garnered a substantial turnout, with attendees eager to witness the recognition of nominees across various categories. The day was made even more memorable as participants adhered to the theme dress code of black and gold, lending an air of sophistication to the occasion.

Sibonelo Mtshali emphasized that the awards served not as a competition, but as a source of inspiration for young people to pursue their aspirations.

“As young individuals, we possess immense potential to effect positive change in our surroundings. I firmly believe that this event will ignite a sense of ambition among Lawley’s youth,” remarked Sibonelo.

He stressed the importance of acknowledging those who contribute positively to their communities, affirming that such recognition serves as motivation for continued excellence. Sibonelo further announced that the event would become an annual affair, with plans already underway to ensure next year’s iteration surpasses the current one.

“As young people, we possess boundless potential to shape our environment, and I am confident that this event will galvanize Lawley’s youth to strive for even greater accomplishments,” reiterated Sibonelo.

Plans are already in motion to host the event again next year, with the aim of surpassing this year’s success.
