Daxina Senior Citizens Club hosted a full-house Valentine’s Banquet at the Lenasia South Civic Centre on Saturday, 10 February. The event, bathed in the soft glow of candlelight, delicious meals and happy guests, was a testament to the enduring power of love and community.

Despite facing a power outage, the evening proceeded seamlessly, with attendees revelling in the ambience and romantic atmosphere. Members of the DSC and the community danced the night away until the early hours of Sunday morning. The event was nostalgic, as the GLOBE POST team present, recalled the many dinner and dance evenings hosted at this venue.

The success of the Valentine’s Banquet is a testament to the enduring spirit of love and celebration that defines Daxina’s social and cultural identity, and a tribute to the elderly who proved that age is no barrier to partying well into the next morning in the name of love for one another. DSC members extended their gratitude to the many sponsors who contributed to this spectacular evening. Spoilt Rotten, the event’s main sponsor, ensured that there was excellent sound, perfect music selections and lighting.
