Gibson Pillay Learning Academy lauds Matric Class of 2023

Matric results are always the highlight of celebrations at the beginning of the academic year, but the celebration starting off 2024 at Gibson Pillay Learning Academy is certainly extra special as we laud and pay tribute to the phenomenal class of 2023.

This class faced many adversities and challenges throughout the year but were rewarded for their dedication and commitment to reach an ambitious target.

The class of 2023 achieved a resounding 82% Bachelors pass with 78 distinctions amongst them, equating to 1.5 distinctions per learner. This is supplemented by 86 B-symbols and the amazing achievement of a 100% pass rate in nine of the eleven subjects offered at the school, including the gateway subjects of English, Mathematics, and Accounting.

In particular we acknowledge the outstanding individual achievements of Ciara Idas, the Head girl of 2023 who achieved 7 distinctions in the subjects of English, Afrikaans, Mathematics, Business Studies, Accounting, Life Sciences and Life Orientation.  This hard working and ambitious young lady who will now enter the medical field, has maintained this exceptionally high standard since Grade R and we have n doubt that she will excel beyond all expectations in her tertiary studies.

Ciara’s superb results are equally complemented by Dhruv Maharagh, Nyiko Maluleke, Tyrell Napier and Kira Smith (each of whom achieved 4 distinctions), Ammaarah Basha, Viyashka Moidheen, Raiel Rajcoomar, Ethan Singh, Erin Spannenberg, Refilwe Tlolane and Aquiliene Tshabalala  (each of whom received 3 distinctions), and many other learners who each achieved 2 distinctions each.

It is safe to say that the Class of 2024 of Gibson Pillay Learning Academy graduated with excellence from the school whose motto is “Education is Wealth” and from which they have received a springboard to the road of excellence which awaits them now.
