Police Minister, General Bheki Cele, released the Quarter Two Crime Statistics for 2023/2024 in Pretoria earlier today. The statistics encompass cases reported to and investigated by the SAPS between 1 July and 30 September 2023.

Ennerdale SAPS witnessed a notable rise in common assault, with 185 cases reported during this period, compared to 159 incidents documented over the corresponding period last year.

Simultaneously, efforts by the police resulted in the confiscation of 23 illegal firearms from the streets over the same timeframe.

These figures spotlight the ongoing challenges concerning common assault within the Ennerdale community, while also reflecting the proactive measures taken by law enforcement to curb the proliferation of illegal firearms in the area.
