On Sunday, 5 November, parents and extended families of Wasalaam Nursery and Pre-School came together to witness a momentous occasion at the Lenasia South Civic Hall.

Principal, Apa Aysha Wadiwala said that the little learners rose to the occasion with their incredible stage performance which amazed the audience. The function was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone present. A bitter sweet moment for all was when the Grade R learners graduated and when they sang their Thank You song dedicated to their teachers and parents.

The Johannesburg South District Official Ms T.E Tsikoane attended the function and commended the principal, teachers and learners on a well organized and beautiful function. She also mentioned that Wasalaam Nursery and Pre-School was the only CBS site in the Johannesburg South District to be offering coding and robotics to all the learners as part of the curriculum at no extra cost at all.

In the closing prayer the people of Palestine were remembered and all the learners chanted FREE FREE PALESTINE!!! and parents were asked to contribute towards the fundraising drive for Palestine. The principal also acknowledged the efforts of staff and parents as well as the Board members of the Lenasia South Muslim Association. Overall, it was a huge success.
