Shantel Norma Sibanda, known by her stage names “ShantyV” and “ShantyBaby,” is a multi-talented artist hailing from Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. Born on 5 December 2000, this rising star has made a name for herself as a model, dancer, musician, makeup artist, scriptwriter, hairdresser, and actress. With a unique and versatile skill set, she has already achieved notable success in various creative fields.

Shantel was born in Zimbabwe and raised in South Africa. Her early years were spent in Gauteng Fine Town, where she attended the Finetown Primary school and later pursued her education at Bilal Technical. Her educational journey also led her to the School of Scientology.

From a young age, Shantel showed a penchant for breaking gender stereotypes. She enjoyed playing with boys more than girls and often preferred wearing trousers, challenging societal norms and expectations.

As she grew older, Shantel’s love for music took centre stage. It was in Grade 6 that she developed a deep passion for music, even writing lyrics to famous songs. Over time, her creativity blossomed, and she began composing her own music, collaborating with various production teams. Her talent as a musician led her to work with notable names in the industry, including “Social Webster,” “Keezy & Seezy Music,” “Maxwex Production,” “Miss Style Evaluation,” “Miss Fine Town,” “Mr. & Miss Ekasi,” and “Babylon Empire,” among others.

Shantel’s artistic journey did not stop at music. In 2017, she discovered her passion for beauty and fashion, leading her to embrace a more feminine style. This newfound interest included makeup, clothing, heels, and everything that embodies self-expression.

Over the years, Shantel has participated in several pageants and competitions, showcasing her remarkable talent. In 2023, she made a significant decision to compete in two prestigious pageants: ‘Miss Fame FET 2023’ and ‘Miss Passionate Gauteng 2023.’ She has set high goals for herself and expressed her desire to begin hosting her own events and establish her agency in the future.

Speaking about her aspirations, Shantel told GLOBE POST: “My wish is that I make it in life so that I can have my own agency involving any talent. I believe that in order to be successful, you don’t literally need experience or have academic scores. But when you have the skills to do whatever you can, you also stand a chance to become whoever you’ve imagined to be.”
