In the spirit of honouring Breast Cancer Awareness Month running annually from 1 to 31 October, Project Girl Global (PGG) in association with Ladies of Hope, BaCufa SA and Heavensway NPO will host the 4th annual 5km Breast Cancer Awareness walkathon and cycle in Mid-Ennerdale on Saturday, 14 October.

The annual walkathon and cycle is about supporting and honouring the strength and resilience of breast cancer patients. Besides raising awareness about breast cancer, the event is aimed at raising funds for cancer patients to provide them with much- needed chemotherapy kits.

PGG’s Sister Nazarene Mohammed told GLOBE POST: “With our 4th annual walkathon and cycle, we seek to bring hope and support to patients affected with cancer.”

Everyone is welcome to take part in the walkathon. There will be a variety of artists joining the walk, including  Dimpie Dimpopo, community singer Atlithea and a special artist from Cape Town, Marlon Baker. All participating cancer patients will receive special hampers.

The organisers urge residents to come in numbers to experience a day filled with hope, unity and a commitment to make a difference.

Event Details:

Date: Saturday, 14 October
Time: 08:00

Starting point: 243/6th Avenue Mid-Ennerdale, Ladies Of Hope.

Ending point: 261/9 5th Avenue Mellow Seasons
