Help Ennerdale’s Redeemed Gospel Church continue nourishing the community
Amidst the prevailing need in the community, Mid-Ennerdale’s Redeemed Gospel Church (RGC) initiated a noble feeding scheme to combat hunger and provide support to local residents. Every Thursday at 2pm, the church dedicates itself to preparing and serving meals to underprivileged community members.
Apostle Garry Le Toit, a pastor at RGC, explained that the feeding scheme started on a modest scale last year, primarily involving the distribution of food parcels to homes and families. However, upon observing the extent of financial hardship within the community, the church decided to expand its initiative, extending its outreach to the broader community.
As the programme expanded, the church finds itself in need of community support, Le Toit told GLOBE POST: “We currently do not have sponsors and rely on the church’s leadership donations, as well as the tithes and offerings. We aspire to provide meals on a daily basis to alleviate hunger in the community. In pursuit of this goal, we extend an open invitation to local residents to contribute in any way possible, be it through donations of non-perishable items or by volunteering their time to support this noble cause.”
For those interested in learning more about the initiative or offering their support, Pastor Garry Le Toit can be reached on 078 925 8092.
The Redeemed Gospel Church’s feeding scheme stands as a testament to the power of community unity and compassion. In these challenging times, their efforts provide a glimmer of hope and a lifeline for those who need it most.
