SA Hindus, a community organisation devoted to service to mankind, is thrilled to announce its 2nd Annual Shraddh Pooja –Remembering our Ancestors.

By Pandita Lucy Sigaban – SA Hindus

The function will take place on Sunday, 8 October 2023 at the Lenasia Crematorium, starting at 10am.

The programme will feature soul-soothing bhajans by renowned artist Bushan Das, the solemn Shraddh Pooja ceremony and distribution of hampers. All necessary pooja items and offerings will be provided. However, should you wish to contribute or participate, kindly contact us on whatsapp 067 638 2008.

Pitr Paksh, occurring in the Hindu month of Bhadrapad, is a dedicated period to pay homage to our ancestors. During this time, essential rituals like Tarpan, Shraddh, and Pind Daan are performed to seek blessings and guidance from our forefathers. These rituals also aim to ensure a peaceful journey for our Ancestors in theafterlife.

SA Hindus warmly welcomes those who may lack the means or facilities to conduct these rituals independently. This event serves as an opportunity for all to participate in this spiritually enriching tradition.

To ensure a well-organized event, we kindly request attendees to make bookings via WhatsApp at 067 638 2008.

As space is limited, your confirmation will greatly assist us in making the necessary arrangements.

Participation is strictly by booking. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.

Additionally, security measures have been put in place to ensure the safety of vehicles in the parking area and at the Crematorium. The presence and active participation of community members are crucial in making the 2nd Annual Shraddh Pooja a memorable and meaningful event. Let us come together as a community to honour our ancestors and strengthen our bonds.
