The Lenasia South Senior Citizens Club, with the support of Goodies Funerals and Joy Govender, marked a special Women’s Day event on 16 August.

Held at the Lenasia South Civic Centre, the event aimed to celebrate the essence of womanhood and foster community connection.

Devi Naidoo, chairperson of the Club, expressed gratitude to attendees and sponsors, highlighting the significance of the occasion. “Today, we unite to commemorate Women’s Day, extending our heartfelt appreciation to all who joined us.”

Seniors were treated to a sumptuous lunch courtesy of Dinusha Tanjan from Goodies Funerals. Tanjan told GLOBE POST: “At Goodies Funerals, community support matters. We’re honoured to provide nourishment, aligning with our commitment to giving back.”

Joy Govender, event organizer, shared her personal connection to the Club and its members, inviting fellow seniors to engage. Ward 120’s Councillor, Puseletso Nzimande, addressed attendees, underscoring community involvement.
