A new mayor for Johannesburg has been selected at the 16th Extra-Ordinary Council Meeting held today at the Connie Bapela Council Chambers.
Action SA’s Funzi Ngobeni, Al Jama Ah’s Kabelo Gwamanda and DA’s Mpho Phalatse vied for the seat.
A total of 266 votes were cast, Ngobeni got 59 votes, Phalatse got 68 while Gwamanda received 139 making him the duly elected mayor.
