City Power has issued a statement apologising to residents in Lenasia South, Ennerdale and surroundings for the prolonged outage that happened earlier today when power was not restored in Block 9 after loadshedding at 10.30am.

It has been established that the outage was caused by tripping in the following substations:

* Hopefield which feeds Lawley 2 and Ennerdale ext. 8.

* Ennerdale which feeds Ennerdale, and

* Lunar which feeds Lenasia South, Mid-Ennerdale, Magson Manor, Lenasia ext. 4, Univillle and Mountain View.

City Power Spokesperson, Isaac Mangena said: “The outage was handled by Eskom as the problem is on their side. We Understand that power has been restored however, as City Power we will give an update on the situation as soon as we get information from Eskom. We understand the frustration from our customers, and we apologise for the inconvenience caused.”
