Residents of Lenasia South will have an opportunity to resolve electricity-related queries and access municipal support when City Power brings its Ward-by-Ward Service Delivery Programme to the area on Tuesday, 27 October. The mobile office trailer will be stationed at the corner of Mount Logan and the K43 from 9am to 3pm, in collaboration with the City’s Social Development and Revenue Shared Services departments.
According to Masana Penelope from City Power Community Engagement, the initiative aims to bring services closer to residents and help them address outstanding issues without having to travel to municipal offices. Services available will include logging service queries, account-related enquiries, meter queries, billing disputes, registration for the Expanded Social Package (ESP) and assistance with debt relief.
Residents are encouraged to bring the necessary supporting documents to ensure their queries can be attended to. These include a copy of their identity document, City Power meter number, proof of income, proof of residence, proof of SASSA grant where applicable, bank statements for the latest three months and a City of Johannesburg (COJ) rates and taxes account.
The programme provides residents with an opportunity to engage directly with municipal representatives about electricity accounts, billing concerns and available support programmes. City Power has encouraged Ward 120 residents to make use of the outreach initiative and bring the required documentation to help officials assess their queries. The visit forms part of efforts to take municipal services directly into communities and improve access to assistance for residents.
