Beneficiaries of the South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) can expect their October grants to be paid according to the approved 2026/27 payment schedule, while November payment dates are being reviewed ahead of the Local Government Elections.

Older Persons Grants are scheduled for 2 October, Disability Grants for 5 October, and Children’s Grants for 6 October.

Current grant amounts include R2,400 for Older Persons, Disability and Care Dependency grants, while the Child Support Grant and Grant-in-Aid are R580. The Foster Child Grant increases to R1,300 from October.

SASSA is reviewing the November payment schedule because the Local Government Elections will take place on 4 November 2026. The original schedule placed grant payments around election day.

SASSA has indicated that beneficiaries will still receive their grants, with any revised November dates to be announced after consultations.

Beneficiaries are urged to rely on official SASSA communication for updates and avoid unverified information circulating on social media.
