Two suspects wanted in connection with an attempted hijacking and attempted murder have been arrested in Lawley, according to the Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD).
JMPD said Tactical Response Unit officers, working with the PRASA Intervention Unit, received information about the whereabouts of the two suspects after they had previously allegedly fled from officers during a pursuit.
The information led officers to a residence in Paul Street, Lawley 2, where the suspects were believed to be hiding.
Officers searched the property and arrested both suspects.
According to JMPD, an unlicensed firearm and live ammunition were also recovered during the operation.
The suspects were taken to Ennerdale SAPS and are expected to face charges of attempted hijacking, attempted murder and possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
The allegations against them have not yet been tested in court.
