Municipal teams descended on Lehae on 5 August as Johannesburg City Parks intensified efforts to reclaim littered public spaces across Region G.
Pikitup and Johannesburg City Parks and Zoo focused on Phase 1 Park and Primrose Street, collecting waste and cleaning areas affected by litter.
The operation formed part of a wider city clean-up initiative aimed at improving neglected spaces and discouraging illegal dumping.
In an update on the operation, the City said teams were “hard at work restoring the cleanliness of our Region G communities”.
The clean-up also placed attention on residents’ role in keeping restored areas clean once municipal teams leave.
