On Wednesday, 28 January, The City f Johannesburg’s MMC for Human Settlements, Mlungisi Mabaso, donated 48 pairs of school shoes to Lawley Primary school.

I am who I am today because of this school. When MMC’s office presented us with school shoes to donate, I immediately thought of Lawley Primary.“

Mtshali added: “This will not be the last time we come here, I think we will be back again after two months.”

The donation was welcomed by the school’s Principal, Motsamayi Twalo and the rest of the staff. Twalo expressed heartfelt gratitude to the MMC’s office and encouraged continued community-focused initiatives.

“Thank you so much for such a huge donation to our school. We urge the office of the MMC for Human Settlements to continue doing good for our communities,” said Twalo.

Twalo added that the donated school shoes will make a real difference in the lives of the learners: “The beneficiaries will now attend school wearing proper footwear which will boost their confidence.”

A member of the School Management Team (SMT) praised the gesture and its impact on learners: “We really thank the Office of the MMC for Human Settlements for thinking about our school. What you did is really appreciated. This donation will ease the burden on families.”
